Homeless man hits municipal employee in the head from behind

A homeless man out on bail in Fresno, California, struck a city employee in the head with a blunt object. The victim, Tim Smith, collapsed, unconscious. He is in critical condition following emergency surgery. The suspect, Dyllan Hopkins, had posted $2,000 bail three weeks earlier, after property damage. He was also facing a felony charge for throwing a rock at a police officer last year. He is now on trial for attempted murder.
