A 35-year-old man named Garry Wright entered the district courthouse at 1400 E. North Avenue, Baltimore, on January 31 at approximately 8:40 am. He appeared to be in a behavioral crisis and was walking nervously. Near the entrance, he pulled out a handgun and held it to his head. A security guard, Gary Brown, who had been on the job for a year, also drew his weapon. Both fired. Wright was shot in the legs, hospitalized and died two days later. The investigation is still ongoing.
