F-35 crashes into Alaskan air base

An F-35 crashed at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The pilot is unharmed and has been transported to Bassett Military Hospital for a medical check-up, according to Airman 1st Class Spencer Hanson. Colonel Paul Townsend, Commander of the 354th Fighter Wing, said a full investigation would be carried out to prevent a recurrence. The aircraft, which cost in excess of $80 million, suffered extensive damage.
