A lonely house stands in the middle of a freeway under construction in southwest Shanghai, China. The owner had refused an offer of 1.6 million yuan (approx. €340,000) and a new home in exchange for his departure. Following this refusal, work continued around his home, leaving it isolated in the middle of the road. According to local media, the owner is now regretting this unexpected situation.
