Since an event in December, the Gaîté Lyrique theater in Paris has been occupied by around 300 migrants, mostly from former West African colonies. The occupation began after a conference on the reception of refugees, when the participants refused to leave the premises. As a result, the theater had to cancel all its performances, losing hundreds of thousands of euros and jeopardizing its economic model based largely on ticket sales.
