A woman was attacked by a capybara while swimming in a lake in Ciénaga, Colombia. The scene, captured on film, shows the animal leaping onto her back after she raised a finger to ward it off. The capybara is said to have bitten her head, briefly dragging her underwater. Her cries echoed as a man armed with a stick helped her back to shore. Although reputedly docile, these giant rodents, native to South America, remain wild and may bite if they feel threatened.
