A policeman collides with a man on a bike to arrest him

A police officer on patrol in Palm Coast, Florida, arrested an armed man under peculiar circumstances. Michael McDermott, 38, attempted to flee on his bicycle after being pulled over by police officer Christopher Murphy. During the pursuit, McDermott pulled a pistol from his pocket. To avoid an escalation, the officer rammed him with his vehicle, sending McDermott into the bushes. The weapon, a Ruger 9mm, fell out. The man was arrested without resistance and charged with several offences. Already known to the law, he is returning to prison.
