Police inspector faces disciplinary hearing for road rage incident

Lincolnshire Police Inspector Jonathan Mellor faces a disciplinary hearing after being acquitted of assault charges in a road rage incident in 2021. Filmed by Shane Price's partner, Mellor is seen punching Price in the face, crushing his foot and using foul language. Although found not guilty by a court of law, he is charged with using excessive force and threatening behavior. Despite "promises" from his superiors that he would not face disciplinary proceedings, the case was reopened after an appeal by the complainant, although he has since withdrawn his support.
