Drunken father sentenced to three years in prison for brutal assault in Maesteg

Matthew Bannister, a father of two, has been sentenced to three years in prison for brutally assaulting Bryn Brooks, a customer at a karaoke bar in Maesteg, Wales. The assault followed an argument between women in the bar. Bannister, apparently drunk, began attacking Mr. Brooks, who was seated and not the first to resort to violence. After being ejected from the bar, Bannister continued to hit and stomp Mr. Brooks outside the premises. Mr. Brooks lost consciousness during the assault and suffered head injuries and a fractured cheekbone.
