Dangerous escape for a truck driver trapped at a level crossing, shortly before a collision with a freight train

A truck driver loaded with construction debris got stuck on the A2 junction between Marienborn and Belsdorf, in the Börde district of Saxony-Anhalt, before being forced to jump from his vehicle to escape a collision with a freight train carrying new Audi models. The incident, which resulted in the total destruction of the truck and locomotive, was caused by a technical fault. The train driver was slightly injured, while the truck driver managed to call the emergency services before reaching safety. The wreckage of the truck was dragged for over 100 meters. The accident closed the level crossing until Wednesday, severely disrupting rail traffic.
