Armed woman tased on M1 freeway

A 52-year-old woman armed with a knife caused panic on the M1 freeway near Koorainghat, New South Wales. At around 4pm on Tuesday, she allegedly threatened drivers and blocked traffic. Filmed by a truck driver, she was holding a large blade as police officers tried to negotiate from a distance. She advanced towards them, but an officer tased her by surprise before tackling her to the ground. The weapon, described as a machete, was seized and the woman arrested. Charged with several offences, she remains in custody and was due to appear in Taree Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
