Frightening armed break-in attempt at a restaurant

A man dressed in a black coat terrorized a Kirkham Street restaurant in Plumstead, southeast London, on Tuesday evening. Armed with a knife, he tried to smash the restaurant's glass door while terrified staff barricaded themselves inside. Despite repeated blows against the glass and threats, the individual failed to gain entry. The scene was filmed, capturing panicked cries including "Are you mad?". A police officer armed with a Taser quickly intervened. The man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
