Police officer hit by out-of-control motorist in parking lot

A driver caused panic in Gold Coast on Wednesday evening, plowing into two police officers in the Star Casino parking lot. It all began with a deafening engine noise: the officers, alerted, approached the grey Toyota Hilux and asked the driver to cut the engine. But instead of complying, the driver stopped briefly, then started up again, hitting one of the police officers before fleeing. He returned, hit the hand of the second policeman, then escaped again towards Casino Drive. The police officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The search for the suspect continues.
