A highway worker narrowly escaped death when he threw himself to the side to avoid a skidding truck that crashed into his work vehicle on a New York highway. Chuck Ellerson, 61, was quietly clearing brush and picking up litter along Interstate 81 when he noticed a yellow Penske (transport company) truck approaching at full speed. Ellerson saw the truck coming dangerously close, and reacted by backing up just in time to avoid the impact.
