A police officer shot and killed Sydney Wilson, a 33-year-old woman, after she attacked him with a knife. Officer Peter Liu, on a welfare check, knocked on Wilson's door, who briefly opened it before closing it again. A few minutes later, she reopened the door and charged him with a knife, wounding him several times in the face. Liu returned fire several times. Despite resuscitation efforts at the scene, Wilson died in hospital. An internal investigation into the incident is underway.
