Man shot dead at Frankfurt railway station in front of a crowd of passengers

A terrible shooting took place on Tuesday evening at Frankfurt's main railway station, leaving one person dead. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was waiting on platform 9 when the gunman, a 54-year-old man, approached him and shot him dead. The murder weapon, a pistol, was soon found by police. Arrested shortly afterwards on another platform, both the suspect and his victim were Turkish nationals. The station was closed for a 25-minute search, slightly disrupting traffic. The investigation is still ongoing, and the motive for the attack remains unclear. The suspect is due to appear before a judge this Wednesday, who will decide whether or not to keep him in custody.
