A newborn baby was discovered alive in a dumpster in Houston, Texas. His rescue was carried out by local emergency authorities after a passer-by heard crying coming from the dumpster. This followed the distressing action of a taco truck employee who, after giving birth in the mobile catering vehicle, abandoned her baby in the garbage can before returning to clean the vehicle. Video captured by a witness shows the moment the newborn, his umbilical cord still fresh, was extracted from the garbage can and wrapped in a blanket. Fortunately, despite the horrific circumstances, the child was pronounced healthy at the hospital. Child protection services took charge of him while the police investigated the abandonment.
