The pursuit of a van by police in Llantrisant, Wales, turned bizarre when 31-year-old Daniel Symmons ejected a fridge from the back of the vehicle. Other objects, including a can of cider, a key and a bottle containing an unspecified liquid were also thrown in the direction of the police car. Slowing down to avoid the refrigerator on the road, the police then witnessed the van crash into them in reverse, injuring the officer behind the wheel. Symmons eventually abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot, but was stopped thanks to the intervention of a passer-by. He was convicted of dangerous driving and sentenced to 10 months in prison.
