Abdullah Alshawish, owner of a grocery store in New York's Queens district, is in critical condition after being violently assaulted last Monday. Surveillance video shows an altercation that turned ugly: a green-haired man shoved Alshawish, 65, then brutally punched him, even after the victim had lost consciousness. According to local residents, the assailant, described as a man in his thirties around six feet tall, is a notorious local figure. As for Alshawish, his son describes him as a "generous and kind" person who is "ready to help a random person". He is currently in Elmhurst Hospital, suffering from a facial fracture and internal brain haemorrhage.
