Sniper shoots bank robber between two hostages with human aim

An armed bank robber who took two hostages in Fort Myers has been shot dead by a Lee County police sniper. Recently released surveillance video shows the moment the sniper's bullet, fired from the lobby entrance, passes through a computer screen and hits the suspect between the eyes, avoiding the two hostages he was holding. The suspect was immediately neutralized. The specialized team rushed to the scene to ensure the safety of the hostages and verify that the suspect no longer posed a threat. The suspect claimed to have a bomb and was armed with a knife at the time of the robbery on February 6.
