Michael Brown, 52, a shoplifting suspect with eight warrants for his arrest, died during his arrest by Milford police. After ignoring police instructions, he was extracted from his car and handcuffed, then complained of leg pain and difficulty breathing. The police then requested medical assistance from the Milford fire station, which responded to the scene. During his transfer to Milford Hospital, Mr. Brown stopped breathing and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
