Illegal migrant gang kills Polish soldier at border, others attack rescue workers

There has been a worrying upsurge in violence at the Polish border. Recently, an irregular migrant murdered a Polish soldier with a blade attached to a long branch through a wall. Just as the other soldiers were trying to give him first aid, a squad of migrants threw sticks and other objects at them. Unfortunately, this intervention failed to save the soldier, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Faced with the growing threat of such attacks, Polish soldiers and border guards are calling for a change in legislation that would allow them to use rubber bullets and even live ammunition in life-threatening situations.
