Last Wednesday, at around 1:12 pm, a wanton assault rocked a Valley Transportation Authority platform in Santa Clara, where a 45-year-old man was violently attacked. The assault, recorded by a security camera, depicts a suspect, identified as 26-year-old Andrew Perez, striking the man without warning. The suspect continued to punch and kick the victim before attempting to stab him with an object. When sheriffs arrived on the scene, the victim, bleeding, was taken to hospital. His assailant, wearing a bulletproof vest, had fled. Police later found him barricaded in his home and arrested him for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, wearing a bulletproof vest during a crime, and obstructing transportation security.
