The mayor of a small Missouri town has resigned following the controversy created by the video showing a police officer, Myron Woodson, shooting a hearing-impaired and blind dog. Residents are calling for the police department to be disbanded. The animal, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu named Teddy, was shot on May 19. His owner is suing the town of Sturgeon for $1 million. The video shows Teddy, a small, white, fluffy dog, running through a field. Woodson holds a metal pole with a lasso at the end, with which he tries to catch Teddy. Later, Woodson approaches Teddy and fires two shots.
