31-year-old driver hits a truck at 146 km/h and escapes prison thanks to his pregnant girlfriend

Arron Bond, 31, avoided prison despite a terrifying car accident on the M2 freeway between Chatham and Gillingham, Kent. Bond was driving at an excessive speed, reaching 146 km/h, when he collided violently with the rear of a lorry and rolled several times. His passenger, Kerry Yates, suffered serious injuries requiring surgery. At the time of sentencing, his girlfriend was about to give birth, prompting the judge to impose a suspended prison sentence. Bond was sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation sessions. He was also banned from driving for two years and will have to undergo a thorough examination to get his license back.
