Homeless Man Stabs Washington DC Policeman in the Neck Before Being Gunned Down

A homeless man wounded a Washington D.C. police officer with a knife before being shot himself by police Saturday afternoon. The police had been called to an individual in the midst of a mental health crisis. He became aggressive when taken into custody for psychiatric evaluation and attacked one of the officers with a knife. Despite the use of a Taser, the situation did not calm down and the man was neutralized by a service shot. Both were treated on site and their injuries are not life-threatening.
