Four rescue workers hit by a car during an operation on a freeway: shocking images

One fateful night in December, Benjamin Winters collided with several emergency responders on Interstae 76 in Commerce City, after driving while intoxicated. At the time of the incident, Commerce City police and South Adams County firefighters were busy investigating another accident. According to Colorado State Police, Winters maneuvered around a fire truck, then returned to the roadway to crash into the police and firefighters present. One seriously injured firefighter required surgery. Winters pleaded guilty to all charges and will be sentenced on August 9.
