In the city of Rawalpindi (Pakistan), a court has ruled on the case of a woman accused of running over a policeman with her vehicle, causing serious injuries. The incident, more than four months old, had initially escaped swift resolution due to the absence of vehicle registration in the accused's name. However, she was arrested after details of the case were exposed on social networks. At her hearing, the court ordered pre-trial detention despite the claims of her lawyer, who contested this measure, pointing out that the accused was not involved in any other serious criminal case. A medical examination was also ordered following allegations of torture during detention.
