A 63-year-old van driver, Albert Loveridge, provoked a chilling pursuit with police on the A10 after colliding with another vehicle and attempting to flee. His dangerous driving forced several motorists to avoid him in a hurry. After finally crashing into a hedge, Loveridge tried to defend himself by claiming that a friend was driving. He was sentenced to a six-year driving ban for dangerous driving, driving despite a prohibition and lack of insurance, in addition to a fine and a community sentence.
