Tragedy struck at a fish market in Rio de Janeiro when Ana María Paixaõ attacked her husband, André Chapeta, pouring a flammable liquid over him and setting him alight with a lighter. Chapeta, aged 50, suffered burns over 92% of his body and died after a week in hospital. Paixaõ was arrested but released for lack of a signed arrest warrant. Paixaõ's jealousy is suspected as the motive. She claimed to be acting in self-defense, an allegation rejected by investigators.
