A frightening moment occurred on a popular Mexican beach last week, when a crocodile invaded the area, spreading panic among bathers. The animal was filmed crossing the sands of Zihuatanejo beach on the Pacific coast. Despite a lifeguard's attempts to chase it away by throwing a lifejacket and whistling, the crocodile continued on its way into the water to cool off. Fortunately, the incident does not appear to have caused any injuries. Following this, the municipality of Zihuatanejo decided to install a new cyclone net to protect people from crocodiles, replacing the old one damaged by a storm. Residents claim that these crocodiles are generally not dangerous and come out of their habitat mainly to look for food.
