Man neutralized by police after threatening passers-by with knife

On October 14, 2023 in Los Angeles, a man alerted police to the presence of a dangerous man armed with a knife. The individual, 47-year-old Earl Callier, was holding a large kitchen knife and running through the streets. Despite police warnings to drop the weapon, Callier refused. At first, the police used rubber bullets to no avail. It was when he ran towards an officer that the latter decided to react with live ammunition. Callier was arrested and taken to hospital in a stable condition. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
