Suspect hit by police after shooting at officer (Warning - shocking)

On October 24, 2023 in Springfield, Illinois, USA, a shocking event occurred involving Cristobal Santana (37) and police officer Dakotah Chapman-Green. During a routine traffic stop, Santana suddenly attacked the policeman, firing ten shots. After the attack, Santana fled the scene, but was arrested (hit by an officer driving out of a gas station) a few hours later and charged with attempted murder. This assault appears to be linked to a previous incident: on October 22, Santana was suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend Adrianna Lopez, a special education teacher. Chapman-Green, who was seriously injured, is currently recovering in hospital.
