Cristobal Santana, 37, opened fire on Illinois State Officer Dakotah 'Kody' Chapman-Green during a traffic stop. Although seriously wounded, the officer pursued and neutralized Santana by hitting him with his patrol car. Santana is also suspected of killing his girlfriend, 37-year-old teacher Adrianna Lopez, in Chicago. Hospitalized Officer Chapman-Green has been praised for his courage and determination. Santana is currently in custody and is charged with several counts, including two counts of attempted murder.
