An old man stops a thief who has just stolen a child's phone

A heroic act took place at Schelkovo, near Moscow, where a 72-year-old resident, Mikhail Makarov, spontaneously overpowered a 35-year-old thief after seeing him steal the smartphone of Timofey, an 11-year-old boy. Alerted by the child's screams, Makarov, a former security guard, ran towards the thief and knocked him to the ground. As the thief tried to escape, Makarov held him tight. Shortly afterwards, a woman, probably Timofey's mother, recovered the stolen phone. The police then arrested the thief and praised Makarov for his courageous intervention.
