2 Frenchmen narrowly escape electric bike explosion

Two French tourists miraculously escaped a serious threat when an electric bicycle exploded in their hostel in Darlinghurst, Sydney (Australia), probably caused by a faulty lithium-ion battery while charging. The security camera captured the terrifying moment, which sparked a fire in the two-storey facility, forcing more than 70 residents to escape. 22 firefighters and six trucks had to be dispatched to contain the blaze.
