A disturbing event took place during a soccer game at Victor Valley High School in California. A 16-year-old girl, Faith Jeffers, was violently thrown to the ground by a sheriff's deputy, causing injuries to her spine. The incident occurred after a fight involving several students broke out in the school parking lot at around 6:30pm. A video taken by a cell phone shows the young girl being picked up and thrown to the ground by the deputy. Following this, another teenager, Anthony Smiler, confronted the officer. In response, authorities fired pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Police claim Faith tried to grab a pepper ball launcher, and the officer had to defend himself by throwing to the ground
