A policeman hits a man who intervenes during an arrest

On Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith, West London, a Metropolitan Police officer was filmed repeatedly punching a hooded man in the face before pulling out his Taser. Police had responded to reports of a man possessing a machete. Although a man was arrested following these reports, no weapon was found on him. In the video, the crowd present begs the officers to stop their intervention. Another man attempted to intervene during the search, resulting in his arrest for obstruction. The Professional Standards Unit will review all videos, including those recorded by the cameras worn by the officers, to ensure compliance with procedures
