Ubud, the jewel of Bali known for its verdant panoramas, was the scene of an unexpected tragedy last Friday. The Ayuterra Resort, a popular establishment in the region, suffered a devastating accident when its elevator fell into a ravine following a cable rupture. The fall, from a dizzying height of around 100 metres, claimed the lives of five employees, aged between 19 and 24. Local authorities are currently investigating whether this unfortunate incident was the result of possible negligence. In the meantime, financial aid has been granted to the bereaved families by both a social security organization and the hotel administration, although this precludes any further legal action against the establishment
