He stops a man who is violent towards his dog and has his jaw shattered

A 35-year-old Bronx man was violently assaulted with a baseball bat after trying to stop a man from abusing a dog. The incident occurred at the intersection of East 135th Street and Third Avenue in New York City. Police were alerted around 3:45 p.m. Sunday in Mott Haven. Rubin Bartley, 34, from East New York, is accused of the brutal assault. He allegedly hit the victim with a bat, breaking his jaw. Despite his injuries, the victim is stable and was transported to Lincoln Medical Center for treatment following trauma to his face and head. An arraignment for Bartley was scheduled for Monday in Bronx Criminal Court
