Outrage at Chinese zoo bear filmed drinking Coca-Cola

Outrage is mounting following the release of a video showing a brown bear consuming a bottle of Coca-Cola at a zoo in Dalian, China. The bear deftly grabs the bottle held out by a tourist and opens it to drink the contents, while other empty bottles lie around. The video provoked a virulent reaction on Douyin, with users denouncing both the visitors for giving the animal a harmful sugary drink and the zoo for allowing such behavior. Zoo staff subsequently reiterated that giving animals sodas is strictly forbidden, and increased surveillance measures will be put in place.
