New Yorkers subdue a man who knocked down 10 people during a police chase

On the busy streets of New York, Kyle Fernandez, 20, fled at the wheel of a stolen Hyundai Tucson SUV with Illinois plates, after running down 10 people. The chase took place at Third Avenue and 43rd Street, near Grand Central Station, around 5:30pm. Police had been alerted to the presence of the stolen vehicle by an automated license plate reader. The SUV had been reported stolen in the Bronx the day before. Fernandez's escape ended when he was overpowered by brave passers-by.
