Analcohol-impaired driver, Chelsea Standage, ignored the frightened pleas of her passengers and propelled her car at 112km/h into a wall, causing the death of her boyfriend Elliott Lemm. Standage had almost twice the permitted blood alcohol level and was driving at an excessively high speed in a residential area. She was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison for causing death by dangerous driving and seriously injuring two other passengers. She was also banned from driving for ten years.
