Six people were injured when a construction crane caught fire and collapsed in the busy streets of Manhattan near Hudson Yards. The incident began with a fire that overheated a cable carrying concrete, causing the crane to collapse and 16 tons of concrete to fall onto the pavement. More than 200 firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze, which rose 500 feet above the city. The company owning the crane is based in New Jersey and had already been involved in a previous fatal accident in 2008.
