In an unfortunate event in Greece, a fire-fighting plane tragically ended its mission by crashing into a canyon after grazing a tree. On board, two dedicated men, Captain Christos Moulas, 34 and a father-to-be, and Second Lieutenant Periklis Stefanidis, 27, lost their lives during the operation on the island of Evia.
In tribute to these two valiant pilots, Greece suspended its usual rhythm, with the Prime Minister cancelling his planned trip and declaring three days of mourning for the armed forces.
