Police shoot unarmed man (Warning - shocking)

Orlando police are at the center of a controversy following the death of 26-year-old Derek Diaz, killed by a police officer on July 3 while sitting in his car. Suspected of drug possession, Diaz appeared to be cooperating. As the officer asked him to put his hands on the steering wheel and not move, Diaz hurriedly opened the center console of his vehicle. Thinking he was trying to retrieve a weapon, the officers shot him. Diaz later died in hospital. The police department claims that the officer fired out of fear that Diaz would reach for a weapon.
