Child murderer arrested just before boarding train

In a heartbreaking tragedy, 41-year-old Dirk Howell, accused of murdering 9-year-old Alfie Steele (his girlfriend's son) was arrested while attempting to board a train. The case takes place in Droitwich, Worcestershire, England, in February 2021. Howell, along with his partner Carla Scott, 35, is facing murder charges following the death of Alfie, who was discovered lifeless in his bathtub with over 50 separate injuries. According to the allegations, Alfie was subjected to a terrifying campaign of abuse, including beatings with belts and flip-flops, cold water baths and outdoor water jets. After the murder, Dirk Howell allegedly tried to flee, but police reacted quickly and were able to stop him in time.
