Race to the finish leaves innocent man dead in Texas

The passenger of a car died after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Jones County, Texas, Wednesday morning. Aaron Earl Rattler, 27, of Garland, Texas, was pronounced dead at the hospital following the crash on Hwy 277 in Jones County around 7 a.m. Rattler was the passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a pickup truck, while its driver, Jacobe Jabar Johnson, 22, was trying to evade police at high speed. Police attempted to stop Johnson near the 273 mile marker on I-20, but he refused to comply and reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. Both drivers of the vehicles struck by Johnson were hospitalized and their current conditions are unknown.
