Every year, in the city of Trento, a traditional festival called "Tonca" takes place in June. This burlesque reference to the punishment inflicted on blasphemers between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries has become a celebration of fun. Local personalities guilty of ridiculous or grotesque acts are locked in a cage and slightly soaked in water, under the amused gaze of the inhabitants. An unusual tradition that fascinates the curious.
