Man hits policewoman from behind with a bottle

Last Monday, an NYPD policewoman was violently assaulted in the Bronx by an individual who hit her with a bottle to the back of the head. The scene, filmed by witnesses and a surveillance camera, shows José Garcia, 45 years old and resident of the Bronx, silently approaching the police officer on duty before hitting her with a bottle. Despite the intervention of other officers, the man continued to lash out at the officer. Injured, she was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital. Garcia, 45, who had been arrested 11 times, was charged with several counts.
